Has anyone with the Alpha been able to connect to Kies?

Samsung Kies version 3

Has anyone with the Alpha been able to connect to Kies? After many minutes of downloading the drivers, (every time I plug it in), the phone says it is connected but the program never does. The little tones for connect and disconnect play so often, it sounds like it is a weird song. DE DOO, DE DOO, DOO DOO DEE DOO DEE! (If you get my drift) I cannot figure out what to do. Is there a better way to download files onto the Alpha? I've resorted to emailing everything to myself and putting it in the correct place.

I always had an issue connecting my Skyrocket to Kies also. Is this program seriously a product of Samsung? I'm embarrassed for them.......

Today it works. I completely uninstalled Kies version 3 and removed all traces of it on my Windows 7 machine. Rebooted, re-installed and held my breath....... it works. The multiple tones for connect and disconnect are gone and I was able to backup everything and load files into the proper place.

The only thing I can think of is there might have been an issue of installing Version 3 with the old version still on the computer. To save yourself a lot of frustration, I'd recommend the uninstall of the program before updating.

I had all sorts of trouble with Kies. I then tried Airdroid (play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sand.airdroid). So far, so good. Airdroid is wireless, and it's web-based, so there's no need to install anything on your computer.
