Android Central Question

The weather and Time widget is NOT in my widgets folder (so I cant drag and drop from there) but does appear on my lock screen. Its not listed in the App store (as I believe that it's a Motorola factory-installed app?)

I have the same problem. A popup told me is was using battery heavily, so I deleted it. Now it is NOT in the Google Play uninstalled apps Library nor anything else there, and no, it doesn't reappear in Widgets.

My phone is a Moto G7, so it must have been installed with the phone, but I've tried the Moto app, which had no info at all for such things.

I've searched alternatives, and I do not want any of them. This was very small, upper-right corner of screen, showed digital time, temp (plus a weather icon, I think), and had a circle around it that showed battery status at a glance. Excellent app, and I want it back. Thanks for any help.

Welcome to the forums. It's possible that you just disabled it. Try this, go to settings - apps & notifications - see all xxx apps - tap "All" (next to the little down arrow), select 'Disabled' and see if Time & Weather is in that list.

I did that, Javier -- sorta: Settings > Apps etc and then apparently missed seeing Disabled but, instead, tapped something that appeared and had 2 options, one of which was something about weather, so I clicked that. It completely wrecked and seems to have taken over my phone. I have Malwarebytes Premium, but it has disabled it -- I'm running a full scan now -- and I'm not sure what it has done to Norton Security.

Before and two After screenshots (which might not upload correctly, because I can't see them here):phone mess.jpgphone mess.jpgphone ads.jpg

Oh wow! What did you tap?!? It was probably some kind of adware from an app that you downloaded.

This guide can help you to identify which app is pushing those ads.

Javier: I didn't overlook the Disabled option under Apps & notifications. It is not there are all on my phone.

bad app.jpgNothing works to remove that dup, but here's what it looked like before. I'm not a phone wiz, so I'm very discouraged about this. The circular time, weather, battery status app used to be in the upper-right corner. Now I have no idea what to do. It has taken over my phone, apparently, and disabled both Malwarebytes Premium and Norton Security (which has a new name, I think, but it's the premium version, too). Malwarebytes ran but it's in free version mode and did not remove this

First you could try to uninstall that Daily Weather Home (that's not the stock widget included in Moto devices). Select it on that screen - force stop - clear defaults - clear storage/data and then try to uninstall.

That circle with the weather and other info is Moto stock widget and it's called Time & Weather. It could be named differently if you have a Verizon branded phone.

By fumbling around for a long time, I got back to the original configuration, to my amazement.

Yes, I know that it's the Moto widget that comes preactivated on the phone, and I deduced that it's called Time and Weather, because that's what the popup that said it was using a lot of battery power said, and that's what prompted me to remove it, regrettably.

But that widget is definitely not among the options on my phone now. I've checked repeatedly. It is still on the phone but that only trace is, as I said before, when the home screen has been dark for a while and I click the Power button to turn it on. It flashes so quickly that I can't read or even pause it. I've tried Moto sites. Just totally frustrated, and I guess I'll give up again.phone before.jpg I've run out of frustration tolerance for today.

Just in case, repeat all the steps that I posted before to find Time & Weather but this time remember to select system apps (settings - apps & notifications - all xxx apps - three dots top right - show system ...).
