Have the Tab S 10.5, ask me anything!

I am contemplating purchasing a Tab S for myself for Xmas and have been reading reviews about it on different websites and also here. I am wondering about this lag time I have read about on here and wonder if that is a problem mostly if you play games or watch alot of videos. I do neither so would that make mean the Tab S not having the snapdragon would really not be an issue for me? I mainly surf the net, do email, FB and some Office work, ie Excel, Word. Do you think the Tab S as it is now would be a good choice?

Thanks ahead of time for your input.

I bought mine last week. My disappointments/questions:

I need to sync with Outlook on my PC
WTF, no flash? Thats one of the main reasons I ditched my iPad
Spell check/keyboard: I'm using Ginger but its not very good

I'm sure I have more but those stick out right now. Thanks

I am not a game player so really can't comment on that. I've seen no lag when playing videos that are located both in Internal memory or on my 64gig SDcard.

For me, the neat feature is the Screen Mirroring to my Samsung TV. Using wifi, I can send a movie on the tablet to the TV. No wires needed. And while that is happening, depending on the method, I can use the tablet for other tasks such as browsing the web.

The uses you propose would appear to be non-demanding in the main so IF THERE IS LAG, I don't think it would be an issue.

I think the problem there is Adobe has or is phasing out Flash for mobile devices. If you google, I found that you can still install it in SOME browsers. I, frankly, don't understand why it is being phased out before there is a REAL universal replacement for it. So many sites still use it and mobile devices have boomed in popularity. But that's the way it is. Can't comment on your other issues. My contacts did sync with gmail.

I want to purchase the Tab S 10.5 32gb in white and can't find it anywhere all I find is the titanium bronze color. Did Samsung even make it in white? and if they did would you know where I could buy it?

Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 32gb is a Best Buy exclusive. Only Place that sells the 32gb option. It seems to be only available in bronze color.
It's on sale $100 off.

Just bought the tab s 10.5 16gb wifi. I have 10-15 apks on my SD card and I install them one by one and after about 8 or 9 the tablet no longer allows me to press the install button. No error messages and I know the apks are good as I have them on my s3 and note 10.1. One time I shut tablet off and back on and it allowed couple more then stopped again and another time I ended all in task manager and one more installed. I did a factory reset and again 8 or so installed then nothing task manager and restart no longer work. Please help love the tablet but can't deal with this issue. Called samsung and they refused to help as they don't support apk installs. Tried explaining that some apps like Amazon app store can't be gotten on play store.<br/>

Okay, here's my question. How does one close running applications. For example, on a PC, you just click on the "x"or do a right click and then close. How do we close apps on the Tab S?

Thanks you in advance.

Well, you can close them all by pressing the LEFTMOST button (overlapping rectangles) and at the bottom right Press CLOSE ALL

Next to it is the TaskManager option where you can see what's running and END them (or at the top - End All).

Or you can bring up the Main Settings, at the top, Select Applications, and then got through them one at a time and "Force Stop"

But I'm rather new at this and there may be a better way.

I would love to be able to limit which apps start up automatically, there seem to be a bunch of them!

Hi, I'm a first time android user and just got the new galaxy S tablet. I find the screen scrolling motion quite poor . IT ISN'T REALLY SMOOTH if I compare to my I pad. Is this normal?
I have been trying to find some information about that but no luck so far.

There was a thread about "lag" or maybe "rippling/waving" of the image when scrolling web pages, I think (don't recall if it was the 10 or th 8). I have not experienced it. In any particular app? I wonder if finger texture or skin oils could cause such a result (not accusing anyone of dirty fingers)

New to tablets. Can the usb port used for charging be used with a usb cable to hdmi for streaming movies on an hdmi equipped TV? We do that now with my Kindle Fire HD and would like to use the Tab S for instead.

Just purchased the Tab S 10.5 from amazon which should be here on Tue. I’ve been a long time Nexus 7 (2012) owner.

I’ve gotten the impression that the Tab S has a proprietary charging cable. Is this correct? Or does it use any type of micro usb charging cable, similar to what I’m using for my Nexus 7?

How often are the system updates done and any hints that the Tab S will be getting Lollipop any time soon?

Answered in your other thread with more detail. But yes it can.

I've used my Blackberry Playbook charger which is downstairs in my living room to charge various micro-usb devices. It has about the same power value as the Samsung charger.
