So I have a Moto Z, but today's announcement of the Z Play really strikes out to me.

Do I keep my Moto Z? Or do I sell it and buy the z play or do I find a person willing to trade for my Z and add in some cash or moto mods?

It's really up to you and how bad you want it. If you can afford it, and want it that bad, then I say go for it.

It does, but if he values battery life, the cheaper price, and a headphone jack over screen resolution, then it may be worth it. 1080p is still way above retina levels, and the reviews I've seen on YouTube point to the performance of the play just about matching the regular z model

I'm glad the Play is so awesome. Sales of the Z line will increase and more mods will come.

As a Droid Turbo 2 owner, The Z Play is the first Z model that I am actually interested in. I wish it were a little smaller as even the DT2 is a little big for my tastes....

I will be curious to see how the camera stacks up compared to the DT2. I really like the fingerprint reader and the fact that it has a headphone jack.

One downside to the way the mods are implemented is that there's very little ability to vary the size of the phones, unless they implemented a second form factor for mods as well.
