Have you gotten bored of the AMOLED screen yet?

And if you put blacks next to the HTC you'll see the blacks are blacker.

Trade offs ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

Blacks are blacker on the S8, but whites are also whiter. The S8's color accuracy, including gray and white, are the most accurate on an Android.

I usually don't get tired of the best, looks much better than half the displays I regularly use.

For me while I enjoy the S8 display, I also love the HTC U11 and G6 display. I feel the U11 and G6 displays are much sharper than S8.

This post has to be right up there in the first world problems list.

"I get tired of the best AMOLED screen on the market".. lol.

Comments like these I don't understand. Are you able to name something that isn't a first world problem on a forum like this (that is meant for mobile phone nerds to nerd out) ? I mean I get every topic may not be interesting but saying "Man that is a first world problem right there" or something seems ridiculous when that could be said for practically every topic here. o_O

Many posts are about legitimate issues and queries people are experiencing with their phones..

Yes technically those are first world problems too but you are reading way too much into my assertion:

Discussing whether you get tired of the grey or white shades is on another level altogether.

I definitely disagree. I have been around here awhile and I have seen nothing but first world problems 99% of the time. There are the rare ones that could be classified as help with emergency type things / services which are legit but the rest? Such as "My LTE is 5 Mbps instead of 50 OMG!" --- yeah sorry no .. all 1st world problems :P.

There is actually a reason for that.

Most AMOLEDs use a PenTile submatrix while IPS panels typically use a more conventional RGB matrix. The latter has a higher effective resolution than the former, which was one of the chief criticisms of the OnePlus 3's panel.

Some love it, some hate it. I've used Samsung's AMOLED screens for many years. At one point, I got bored of looking at it. Whites just doesn't look good to me, and greys show lots of flaws. But after not using it for a while, it looks beautiful again, then again, I get bored of the cartoony look. What do you think?
Every single one of your posts are negative. If you don't like Samsung or the s8 then sell it and get another phone. Simple.

Back to the topic.. How can one get tired of the best display on the market? It's not like LCD will be better. LCD is definitely boring. Pretty spoiled matter.

Simply because it's not the best display anymore. Pretty bad if you have to be lucky not to have a red s8. But regardless of that, his post is correct. Especially about the white.

I'm not sure how you can really get bored of a display. It definitely looks different than my V20. I do see what you mean about the AMOLED displays looking cartoonish but I only notice it in games. Movies and everything else looks great IMO. I have always loved the displays on all Samsung phones.

What phones do you feel have a better display than the S8 models?

I don't really care either way from a color perspective. It's a phone. If I are going to care, I'd be most critical of my TV's image quality. What I do prefer with AMOLED is that there is no light bleed. LCDs can be really annoying at night even with a black lock screen being viewed. I use my phone as my clock and alarm when I sleep. Not a dealbreaker but still a factor.
