Have you installed Google Wallet APK?

I have used it three times. Twice at McDonalds and once at CVS. All three times people were freaking out. Drew a little crowd and used the opportunity to explain google wallet, nexus and android in general. General public has no idea. All they know is iPhone and Droid.

I have a business citi card and they confirmed that it will not work. Personal card is on the way.

I went out of my way to stop at a Mcdonalds for a test, but I couldn't get it to work. So I read the 'how to' in the app and watched a couple of youtube videos, then tried again at the Jack-in-the-Box across the street. It didn't work at first, so I removed the protective case (not sure if that or being more patient and holding it there longer helped).

I got a 'sent' notification this time, but the cashier didn't see it on her end. After a few moments I tried again and it went through. I was happy to see that I wasn't in fact charged twice, but now I need to go running for an hour to work off the McDouble and curly fries.

I am a little confused about this Google Wallet, when I buy stuff at the Android store or Amazon Apps it looks like Wallet is immediately charging my Visa card. It shows on my bank statement as a Google charge and within Google Wallet it shows the transaction too. Hmm, says I can't fund the Wallet with a Visa debit card, but it did anyway? Set the Google Wallet as my default card and off to try it out.
Nexus - on Verizon, not rooted and used the APK without any trouble at all and got my $10 !

you're confusing the nfc aspect with google wallet in general.

google wallet used to be called google checkout. with google checkout, all your app store purchases appeared there. now that google checkout is google wallet, all you app store purchases appear there instead. but it has nothing to do with nfc. basically all of your google transactions, from your nfc purchases to your app store purchases on your debit card will all appear as transactions in google wallet. they are all independent though. hope this helps

I guess I thought you could add funds to your Google pre-paid card from your other cards NO?

For now I would rather keep adding funds to the prepaid instead of using my actual card but maybe I can't?

You can, and that's what I plan to do. I think it's more secure to just load up the pre-paid card rather than attach one of my real credit cards to Google Wallet. That way, if there really are problems with NFC security, then my credit card number won't be stolen.

I hold mine to the scanner until I get the sent message. Otherwise it doesn't seem to work. Each time I've used it I've had my otterbox on.

Seems to work with the battery I had in the phone when I installed the apk. Had an issue yesterday at a CVS with older terminals. Tried twice and both times said sent but nothing for the cashier. Was using my backup battery so will try again at same store with the original.

I finally got to try my install at a 7-11 and it worked great, but I did have to open it first. Thanks to Google for hooking me up with some Christmas Eve snacks. Anybody set up a MasterCard yet? I am tempted after seeing how easy it was to use.

I used Google Wallet at a Coke machine in the mall, but later today I made a discovery (at McDonald's). If you don't have a data connection (my data dropped out......go figure) you cannot make a purchase. I guess that should be obvious, but just in case anyone has this happen.
