Have You Purchased the NEW Rezound?

I just ordered a Rezound for 1 penny with the amazon deal.

It shipped tonight, but not sure when I'll get it due to the holidays. Maybe Friday.

I wanted the Galaxy Nexus and had been waiting for it for 4 months, but I couldn't pass up the 1 penny deal. I don't think the Nexus is worth $300 more than this.

I hope I'm right ;)

I got mine yesterday and love it. It is extremely fast and fits in my hand and pocket without any isues. I am so glad I did not wait any longer for the Galaxy. This device is going to keep me happy for a long time.

Saw that Amazon.com deal, but is that only for new subscribers? I currently own the Incredible and probably have another year on my current contract.

Rezound for a penny? I paid full retail for it and would do it again, it's just that good. Nexus, Never!

Did you sign anything? I used to work at Verizon and even if the worker was being shady you would have had to sign for the new contract... of course, if you don't READ things before you sign them this is your fault. You also should have gotten a bunch of receipts at the POS that would have showed an extended contract. Verizon is a business, not a charity, the moment you got a phone for half price you should have worried. And... did you go to a "authorized dealer"? If so, you are the one who is screwed, they will not do a thing for you. You may have luck if you went to a corp. store with a good manager but they will either tell you to return the phone or actually pay full retail.

I had the same thinking. I was going to wait fir the Galaxy Nexus, buut when I saw the 1 cent deal from Amazon, I decided that this was the phone to get. I'm excited about Beats and and LTE. I'm hoping that I get my phone on Monday. I am off of work that day and will have the entire day to play with it. I passed on the Razr, because I wanted Sense.

Greetings all ! First time poster here. I too just jumped on the Rezound train last night after Thanksgiving with AmazonWireless for the penny sale. First time HTC buyer with my now 4 year old Moto i580 on Sprint. It's going to be a real switch from my cell which pulls about 4 days of use to...I hope 8+ then have to remember to plug-in every night :-\ ETA is Nov 30. This seems to be a good place to hang out and pick up a lot of helpful tips from everyone.

Welcome to the club! Come back when you get your phone and brag about how awesome it is. Coming from a basic phone, i can't even imagine how much of a step up this is going to be for you

I came from a Samsung Alias 2. Believe me when I say that the Rezound is a quantum leap forward in phone technology compared to the Alias. I'm still in awe of everything this phone can do.

I have had mine for 4 days now and so far so good. I had the Razr prior but exchanged for the Rezound instead. The phone has been flawless so far and I am very impressed. I favored the razar screen better it seemed to be more natural and easier to see.

Update:
Just got the email from Amazonwireless today"...your 1? phone has been shipped!" Hope UPS doesn't have it on the bottom of the pile :-\ This time of the year can get hetic.

Sending out a scout now on a fast horse...

Picked mine up Wednesday, and love it. Have been on vacation in a terrible cell service area, switching between 3g and 1x. Of course, I've been playing with it constantly, and when on 1x battery drops like a rock, which is understandable. Spent a day in a good 3g area and the battery held out well, maybe even comparable to my Droid x with extended battery.

Screen is outstanding. WAY better than the Razr, and my wife's Bionic. Camera is awesome. Very small shutter lag...snaps excellent photos.

This is my first device on Sense, and I actually love it. Will probably root to remove the bloatware, but plan on staying stock for a while at least. Sense has to be the best manufacturer's android skin out there.

Build quality is really great too. I'm impressed.

I've not been much of a music listener, so I didn't even try the Beats stuff out for a couple days. But wow! This system really pumps out some great audio.

All of this to say that I really love this device. Was waiting on the Nexus, but I think I'm sold on the Rezound.

I've had mine for about three days and love out. I really like the network tools available vs the iPhone.

I paid full price which really upset the Verizon rep.

Much to the chagrin of a lot of people on this site, I have. And I don't regret it at all. I bought the RAZR on 11/11 and while I loved the software on the phone, the width was just too much. I have tiny hands and it just felt entirely too awkward. I returned the RAZR yesterday. I was going to just use a busted enV2 until the GNex came out but I couldn't wait two weeks. (That is, if the thing is even out in two weeks.)

Went to Verizon tonight and bought the Rezound and I absolutely love it. The screen is gorgeous. A lot of people were complaining about Sense bogging it down but it's pretty snappy. I expected the thickness of the device to be an issue but it really isn't. It's still pretty light and feels perfect in the hand. (That's what he said?) I've yet to try Beats out but I'm sure I'll be happy with that as well.

Really, not having removable storage was a pretty big issue for me so that's why I ended up going with the Rezound. Plus, the GNex still would have been pretty big for my hands. Once the Rezound has ICS I'm sure I'll like it even more.

I purchased a Rezound on Wednesday to replace my BlackBerry 9650. This is my first Android device and I am in love. I've been a BlackBerry fanboy for 3 years, since I bought my first Curve 8330...I've known for a long time that I've been living in the stone ages with my BlackBerry, but it did the things that I needed very well. I'm mainly a text'r/email guy. Browsing the web didn't interest me a ton because I'm almost always near my laptop or a desktop...and if you know what BlackBerry is like, browsing the web is a painful experience.

Well, now that I have my Rezound on 4G or even just wifi (25mbit on my home line), I am finding myself using my phone to do a lot of simple browsing. Why not? It's almost as fast as using my laptop. This blows my mind, having come from a BlackBerry. Yes, I miss the physical keyboard tremendously, but in 3 days I've already become fairly quick at typing on the glass.

I do miss my BlackBerry. Granted, I have MUCH to learn about Android (I know practically nothing about the OS at the momeny), but the BlackBerry handled some things much better. Particularly Sound Profiles. I don't care what anyone says, Android is no where near as good as BB in that department. I'll survive and get used to it though. It's not a deal-breaker by any stretch.

I'm not an app junky and that probably has a little bit to do with the fact that BlackBerry's just don't give you the opportunity to be an app junky. Still, I've put a few apps on my Rezound that I could never have on my Bold 9650, like AndChat for IRC'ing. I've installed ConnectBot for ssh & IRC'ing as well, when I need my shell.

I can't compare this to any other Android device since this is my first foray into Android, but I KNOW this phone kicks ass. The camera take beautiful pictures. There is a little bit of grain on indoor shots, when the light isn't fantastic, but every cell phone camera suffers from this a little bit. I've only done a little bit of video recording and I am more than pleased with the quality.

Sound quality is fine. I tend to talk a lot with headphones anyway, but when I don't use my headphones I would say call quality is just as good as my BlackBerry was. One complaint I have is how the speaker is on the back of the device, so when I place my phone down on my armrest (think lay-z-boy style chair), the volume of notifications and calls isn't that great. My BlackBerry had it's speaker shooting out the side of the device...Of course, you can't get devices too thin that way, but it did assure that calls & notifications were fairly loud.

I'm still getting used to the fact that you don't have to "close" apps - hitting the home button and letting Android figure out when it needs the memory is going to take a little bit of getting used to. Sometimes I find myself hitting the back arrow key repeatedly, but I'll adjust in time.

The battery life seems just fine to me. The first day that I had my Rezound I was using it non-stop and the 2nd day was very heavy use too. Yesterday I didn't use the phone too much. Maybe 10 text messages and a little bit of poking around...maybe a couple of phone calls that weren't too long. The battery lasted me until 5pm today. That was very satisfactory to me.

I'm going to have a lot of fun with this phone. I just know it. My BlackBerry was more of a tool and that's it. This Rezound is going to be the same tool with a little bit of fun thrown in, so I know I'll be happy with it. It's amazing at how fast everything is compared to my Bold 9650. I love it!

EDIT: I did mean to speak about 2 more things. I'm not exactly thrilled with the Calendar so far. I have a lot of health problems (liver transplant recipient) and it's crucial that I share calendar information with a family member. Comparing it to the BlackBerry, the Android comes up short so far. Also, my favorite app Score Mobile crashes when I try to click on an individual game/match. I went back into Android Market and saw that other Rezound users are complaining of the exact same thing. I'm confident that a fix will be available soon...but I am a tad bummed that I need to use another app in the meantime.

EDIT 2: Could someone please tell me how to remove the battery cover on this device. There isn't a latch or anything and I do not want to break the thing, but I need to know! :-)

Yes they prefer you to order online since it messes with their ARPU (Average Revenue Per Upgrade or Unit I forget) score and commission.

Actually there is a sort of latch on the back. Turn around the phone. See the little cutout at the buttom? You need to hold that with one finger (i use my middle) while pressing your thumb up against the middle of the back cover for leverage. Pull the cutout up and you should have it.

Doing it a few times, you get the hang of it to the point where you don't even think about it anymore. I swap my spare battery every day and i don't even put any thought into it. Just pop it off and boom. Done. Good luck with your new liver!

Okay...I'll try that. Thank you very much!

Ringleader Pro is your new best friend :)

There isnt anything as far as apps on BB that isnt also on Android. Some apps are cross platform but others you just have to reseearch and find the best one for you but with over 500,000 apps in the Market now you should be able to find something that suits your needs.

Logging into the website and sharing your calendar with someone else (ie another Google account) should do the trick or have them share it with you as the case may be.

The entire back comes off the phone.
