I've tried several rooting apps (SuperoneClick, Gingerbreak, Gingersnaps, EasyRoot) but find that they keep getting stuck. Superone and EasyRoot say that my phone has been rooted, but once I reboot my phone I see absolutely no change, and still have no root access. Ginger Break and GingerSnaps are getting stuck at "executing exploits" for around half an hour before I reboot.
I have the correct drivers installed, but am assuming this is user error. I've read articles on using these several times over and cannot find the problem, does anyone have ideas? I'm running on 2.3.4.

I've been having trouble figuring out which one I am on, my SW version is VM701ZV4. I see it mentioned in that thread that there are older versions such as ZV8, ZV9, ZVC, is ZV4 one of those older versions? thanks :]

Problem #1 is you're in the wrong section. You have an Optimus Slider, no?

Give this a good read, then post in the appropriate (<-- Key) forum/thread if you have issues: http://forums.androidcentral.com/vi...how-root-custom-recovery-nandroid-backup.html
