HDMI connection stopped working on my note 8

My HDMI connection via a choetech ZH09 adapter has stopped working on my note 8. Has worked fine previously. It still work fine on my partners S8 so it must be my mobile. Something has changed. I did have a problem with the phone connecting to its fast charger recently. It kept disconnecting and reconnecting. I plugged it into my laptop and it slow charged fine. Now it fast charges fine again too. But the HDMI isn't working. Any advice about this problem would be appreciated?

Use a can of compressed air to blow out the port, and a toothpick to root around for any residual debris.
