Hello! This is my first Android phone, Droid X. I got it back in July and I've loved it ever since. I kinda wanna know how this whole rooting thing goes down. I used z4root, cause a friend told me to. Then, he downloaded SetCPU and did something and ROM Manager and said I needed it? I wanna know how to use my rooted phone and how to use ROMS and all that kind of stuff. I'm new and I heard this was a great place to start so I know I'm posting it in the wrong place probably, but I look forward to being an active member in the AC community!

You're welcome. The Droid X is a great phone.. I use to own one. Rooting it is very simple with the Z4root app and there are plenty of resources listed in "The Droid X guide to rooting, backing up & installing custom roms" that will return your phone back to the way it was in case you do somehow screw it up... I doubt it though. Its a few button pushes and the app does everything for you. There's also video tutorials in that guide so you can watch it being done before you even do anything to the phone. Have fun.
