Made my way through the rooting process last night no problem. Did some research found the omega rom might be a good try.

flashed it this morning and my phone is dead - I wiped and reset and - now I have a coaster.

I have been looking into how to unbrick all methods say to boot into download mode - I cant get the phone to do that???

Any advice?

Have not heard of the Omega Rom? Is it for Verizon? Please post link.

***********Remember ROMS are carrier specific.

***Edit: Ok, I found Omega, but it is for Samsung Galaxy S3 I9300 not Verizon. I maybe mistaken but I do not see it listed in the Verizon SIII forum. It looks like you flashed a ROM that is for another carrier which is a big mistake!

This is correct, Omega ROM is not made for US carrier devices. At least I can't find it on any of the usual places to find ROMs. You are going to need to reflash a ROM that is built for the Verizon GS3. Check my signature for the ROM Listing thread and it gives your a list and links to all the popular ROMs, both TouchWiz and AOSP for the Verizon GS3.

Either way I F'ed up - nothing I can do right?

From what I have read, you likely have a paperweight. I have not seen anyone successfully recover from flashing another carriers ROM ( I could be wrong, but I have not seen it).

This might be your only hope: JTAG

Your best bet is throw it in the toilet and get a replacement on your insurance.

You beat me to the punch - thats a ty $50 mistake.

This is why I wish rooting walktrhoughs were consolidated I had to piece together the process because links were broken on every guide that I found.

Where did you get this info from? Proper research was your responsibility and not that of the devs. You should have visited one of the many 'what's the best ROM?' threads on this very board beforehand.

Your phone does absolutely nothing when you try to boot? You could be SOL. Don't further damage your device, just take it into a Verizon store and say you woke up to it like that. Chances are it isn't recoverable and they'll have nothing to prove in store. Maybe you'll get a manufacturer's replacement. You could always report it stolen and sell it Bricked/Dirty on ebay to pay for the deductible.

I never intended to place blame on the devs if that is what you took from my statement I apologize. Cory Streater made a blanket statement the other day that showed promise. However this forum always resorts back to negativity.

I resorted to piecing the process together on my own because if you ask a question on here that someone else did you get barraged with ridicule and please merge this thread.

Moral of the story there are a lot of people on here that are supportive and I will seek those out when I get my new device - thanks to RIcky Babalu for helping me out.

This is the reason I will never root. I know 2 people who gave done it and both have left android because of bad experiences. For experienced people that may seem easy but for average users its a scary $600 nightmare.

Or you could be responsible and not commit fraud. Every ROM, be it correct or not, comes with the disclaimer that you could end up with a brick. You screwed up, so now be a man and live with it. It is people who expect their insurance to pick up the tab for their own screw ups that cost the rest of society more money.

How does society pay if he uses insurance to get a new phone? You think Asurion is part of Obamacare and your taxes go up BC this guy gets a new s3 for 99$ ? It has nothing to do with yours or anyone else's finances. If he has insurance he probably paid the $650 by now through the monthly 7$ fee. I know I have about 10 times over.

This is exactly what I am talking about sticking your nose where it doesn't need to be. The purpose of this forum was to get help not have you make comments about my personal choices.

I actually was looking into tagging first because I have heard other people have not had the same great experience with their s3s as I have had with mine.

Don't want to risk getting a ty refurbishment....

I was just throwing it out. Regardless if OP chooses to follow it or not have absolutely 0 effect on your or my life. If I had suggested he snatches an old lady's purse to pay for a new phone, maybe you'd have reason to White Knight it up. Relax.

Look dude, it's nobody else's fault but your own that YOU messed up YOUR device. Nobody is being malicious or ganging up on you. Our community isn't going to hold your hand and tell you everything is going to be ok either. You asked a question and we answered it. Don't take out your frustrations on the boards, we didn't brick your phone.

This was the only negative I was referring to - the assumption I was going to commit fraud. Like you said white knight - I am not looking for anyone to hold my hand through my f**k up - just to hold my hand through my next attempt to root.

I have rooted/rommed/modded/kerneled my og, dx, dx2, charge, tbolt, nexus, etc.... This one was my first mistake - damnit!
