HELP!! "Can't Symlink /system/xbin/su Failure at line 8"

Ok, so I followed the instructions here: http://forums.androidcentral.com/ve...s-hacks/138695-rooting-fascinate-2-3-5-a.html

and here:http://forums.androidcentral.com/ve...ying-root-after-ota-gingerbread-update-2.html

and when trying to install su-2.3.6.1+busybox1.19zip, I get the following message - "E:Can't symlink /system/xbin/su
E:Failure at line 8:
symlink /system/bin/su SYTEM:xbin/su
Installation aborted."

What on earth did I do wrong???

What ROM are you using? Pretty sure you can't root the current stock version of 2.3.5. Try flashing Superclean Milestone 1, then su-all.
