HELP- Can't unlock my HTC One as keyboard has disappeared

Hi - I've had this problem before with my HTC One keyboard, but now phone is locked and needs 4 digit PIN to unlock it.Can't enter PIN as no keyboard. I know how to fix the keyboard problem if I can just unlock it. Does anyone know a way to over-ride the screen lock without the PIN?

On my Nexus 5, when presented with the keyboard for you to enter the PIN, if you press and swipe up from the bottom of the screen, a second, slightly different keyboard appears. Whether this is for emergencies such as yours, I don't know, but perhaps your device has something similar?
