help...computer won't recognize phone...no ringtones. :(

Hello to all,

I am a brand new droid owner. Sprint Epic BUT....when I plug it into my computer, it can not recognize the phone, (all three of my computers) so I can not download any new ring-tones. As I am sure you all know, the ones that come with the phone suck! I have clicked the mount button, but computers still don't recognize the phone. I have two computers with xp, and one with windows 7.

Any tips, links, anything to help me out??

there's a couple things you can do.

First, I'd try plugging it into a different USB port.

If that doesn't work try downloading the USB drivers for the epic. A simple search of Samsung epic 4g 32 bit drivers should pull it up. Your gonna have to install the drivers and then plug in your phone.

When u plug your phone in for the first Tim, your computer is supposed to try and install the drivers on its own, sometimes the computer can't find them and u need to do it yourself, but changing USB ports should work

Or worst case pull out your micro sd card and throw it in an adapter and plug it into your comp.

Or you could use DropBox to get the files on your computer, and a file manager to move them to the correct folder.

I tried every thing you could think of and could not get pc to find my epic with the stock cord so I pulled out my trusty ole blackberry usb cord and worked instantly
