HELP. Dead Android and Yellow Triangle Exclamation Mark?

Failed to update software: "Try again using Smart Switch on your PC or visit a Samsung customer service centre.

I still have the same issue, after download of software update, the phone restarts and I see the dead android and yellow triangle. The phone shuts of and restarts and I get two windows with the messages I have detailed on the top. The updates are never applied.

No not sure what that is. Will try later and update. I did try to use different network to download the software update but no luck

Smart switch is a Samsung program that is usually used to backup and transfer data from old to new phone. Lately I've heard you can update your phone through it. I've never done it but I've read about it last week.

Downloaded smart switch for windows. Connected my s6 to my laptop and everything was done on it's own. Now my phone says it's up to date. So I guess it worked.

Thanks for all the help dumpesduce. You have any ideas on how to improve the battery? I had the nexus 6 before and I think the battery was better.

Just depends on how far you are wanting to go to save battery life. I'll start with the most common.

Disable all bloat and apps you don't use

Turn off Google Location History
-settings > personal > accounts > google > location settings and turn off.

Turn off Google Now cards
>>google > search > now cards

Check Sync settings on all your accounts. Turn off everything you do not need. (Google, Samsung, and etc)


Disable Smart Network Switch
- settings > connection > WiFi > More

Turn off Always Allow Scanning
- >>> advance

Keep GPS turned off till you need it.


That is the basic things. Below are some more extreme things you can do.

Keep screen brightness below 25% (all the way down if possible)

Set a black background for your wallpaper.

Restrict Background Data on Google play services
- settings > connections > data usage > find Google play services
(Note you will not get notifications for gmail, app updates, and other google app notifications Unless connected to wifi, but this is a huge battery eating bug)

I'll add more if I think of any more I'm forgetting. I only do the first six and get 4-4.5 hrs of sot.

I'm guessing something that has to do with OTA updates on your phone broke?

Seems like the carrier that is sending out the update is corrupted but only if more people on that network is having the same problem.

Try restoring factory settings and clear all existing data and see how that will work.

i too have this same issue. i bought a new charger and it worked for the first 2 days then started showing the yellow triangle with the exclamation mark inside. i went on the internet to find the issue and was starting to see people say it was their battery. well i just came from the phone store and it ended up being my charger port. so now i have to pay to have the charger port fixed. i have a galaxy s5

not working. Infact the Galaxy S7 edge screen keeps blinking and then displays dead android logo with yellow exclamatory triangle above. HELPP
