So I know there are a lot of similar tutorials and links throughout this forum but I thought I would help my fellow noobs out with some vids I found very helpful.
1) TB_AUTO_ROOT [cite]this video is as easy as it comes...if it doesn't work for you then re-install the auto_root zip. Requires: TB_AUTO_ROOT and HTC Sync (htc sync doesn't need to be opened during this process).
YouTube - How To: Root A HTC Thunderbolt ( Easiest Tutorial / Step by Step )
Easiest way to root however I preferred doing it myself and will be glad to go into detail if anyone needs help with ADB.
2) So know your phone should be rooted...if not continue step 1 until you have your phone rooted. Also if "Super User" isn't auto-installed after the auto_root just search in app store THEN...
3)Search "Rom Manager" <---This is where you will be finding most of your Roms starting out.
4)FLASHING Roms...I wont go into detail about what this means ...google it!
here's a good link (helped me starting out last week at least)
YouTube - HTC Thunderbolt Rom Flash
This is for BAMF remix (if you want bamf or any rom just google the name or look on the forums...Gingerbread is available f.y.i) but today I have just been fooling around with B.A.M.F and T-Stick (dont get T-Stick)
Hope this helps all the newcomers. As a noob myself, and a new member I had some difficulty last week and these videos along with the great community here helped me out a great deal!
Thanks and happy Rooting!
