I hope someone can give me some suggestions here. Grandson left his S6 out in the sun at the beach for several hours, sitting on the tailgate of a pickup with a black bed liner, and in an Otter Box case. It got way to hot and shut down. I took in inside ant let it cool off and tried to charge it. It charged for a little while so I powered it on. Most of the areas of the screen were unresponsive to touch. It shut down again and is now dead. Is sending it in to Samsung the only option. Is there some kind of thermal link that can be replaced? I wonder if the battery is gone. Any suggestions or is the thing toast?

I'd say it's gone. The battery probably got significantly damaged from the heat, so that would need replacement, and it sounds like the touchscreen digitizer also got damaged. There's no way to tell yet if parts of the motherboard got fried as well. Sorry!
