Help! Icons disappeared!

Please help!

On my Galaxy Note 10+ running Android 10, I woke up this morning to find dozens of website shortcuts I had put on my home screen to be totally gone. I didnt delete them myself, there no system update, no crash, they were just... gone. I tried restoring from samsung backup which was made last night when they were all there; nothing (that actually deleted more items!). I restarted several times, nothing. I don't know what else to do. Please, does anyone know what I can do to fix this? This is extremely distressing. Have had this phone since September with no prior issues.

I should add it's mostly icons I had within folders.

That is strange behavior, try locking your home screen by long pressing empty spot on home page then tap home screen settings see if it still happening

Also, which browser did you use to create those shortcuts? Any recent change or update for the browser app?

Weird, you didn't accidentally change launcher or start up in safe mode somehow... It does sound strange

Combination of Samsung Internet and Chrome. No changes or updates. It's only the shortcuts that were in folders, strangely. Both Samsung and Chrome shortcuts were affected equally.

Very strange. I found some similar reports and in some cases they were related to Power Saving mode. Did you turned this feature on or off before this problem started?

I've never used that, ever.

Since you seem screwed anyway why not try a factory reset and then run the last backup again

It's not happening- it happened already. The bookmarks are just gone.

For testing purposes, can you put a couple bookmarks on your homescreen see how long it takes to disappear?

They're not disappearing now. Overnight all the bookmarks I have in folders disappeared. If I add new ones now they stay.

Ok so make those bookmarks /folders lock your home screen let's see what happens overnight.
