I couldn't replicate it on mine (Nacho Notch may be interfering in my case), but I think I'm agreeing with you or something similar. That cutout looks too perfect to be due to a damaged screen. Screen damage is usually irregular, has jagged edges where the pixels stopped working, lines running across, discoloration, etc. This appears to be a smooth "cut," for lack of a better term, with none of the typical signs of damage.I was able to replicate it, choose corner cutout

Weird!I was able to replicate it, choose corner cutout
But now that I think about it; when I chose corner cutout, the top space for the notification area grew bigger, that's about the only change I've noticed.
