Help me turn off a feature

So trying various configuration settings I've found in these forums I've turned on a feature which leaves the Android navigation bar on the screen while charging. I don't like leaving static images on AMOLED screens for fear of burn in however I cant remember where I was or how to turn off this feature. Does anyone know where to turn this off?

Was it a Developer Option? Or is the phone rooted?

Phone is not rooted, I was looking for recommended Android settings and don't remember if I was in the Marshmallow section or the how to section so I would assume it's a regular Android settings. I've looked through both but nothing is jumping out at me.

Maybe under settings - display - daydream - three dots - while charging? Just in case switch daydream off and see if it makes a difference.
