Help needed with LinkedIn contacts not showing up

hi!
i'm new to Android (coming from webOS) and am so far really liking the Android experience (more than i thought i would!)

i'm having a problem with my LinkedIn contacts not showing up. When I first got the phone, it was fine, but then I updated to Gingerbread and now they won't come through.
I have no problem with contacts from my work account, Facebook or Twitter.
I'm on a Samsung Galaxy S.
