The icon is also not on the support website list: What do the different icons mean on my Verizon Wireless Galaxy

I found this on another forum though, should have the same meaning.

This is the GPS icon. The three waves to the right indicate that although GPS is not turned on, there is a location setting enabled.

It is supposed to keep your screen lit while your eyes are on it.

The eyeball icon can also represent smart rotation on galaxy devices fyi.
