help rooting please?

I am about to root my att galaxy s3 (SGH-i747) and im going to use casual. Is that my best bet to use? It for version 4.1.2.
 
Many users agree that one click roots aren't the greatest. Sometimes they fail, and don't give a reason why.

I would like to use this rom but i have to root before being able to use this right? Honestly i dont know a whole lot on this type of thing as its my first time for this phone and type of root. That is a Sprint ROM. Can't be flashed to an AT&T.

I recommend the slim bean ROM its the best in my opinion. And yes u have to be rooted to install custom roms.

SO for the root i just download the casual software plug my phone up into usb debugging let it do its thing an its done? Then once rooted how do i install custom roms?
 
Yes u just let casual do its thing. Then the rest is kind of self explanatory through those links that I have u.
