any help will be highly appreciated.

SOLUTION

It's the power switch. Before replacing flick it about 20 times and blow air on to it.

solved my problem of flashing Samsung logo or empty battery logo when phone plugged into power source/pc. :)

Mine just did this too, September 9-11, 2015... I finally took it to my Cellular Repair Store and come to find out, it was just the Power Button failure.
They replaced the power button with a little soldering on the circuit board, now my phone is acting like it is brand new.
This may not be everyone's problem, but the store did mention this has become a problem with the Samsung Galaxy SIII and S4 phones lately.

When this happen. Simply Press Power Button and Volume Up Together. It takes little time to restart. When logo appears again (when Power Button and Volume Up Buttons are pressed), Just leave. Your Phone will work Properly...

I have been trying to reboot my phone it couldn't answer. Please kindly lead me right.
It is GALAXY S111
MODEL GT-19300
Thanks

For those who are experiencing the following problems like I did :
> If you remove, then reinsert the battery it TURNS ON BY ITSELF, and just shows the Samsung S3 GT-i9300 logo blinking.
> If you try to connect to a charger, it just shows a static battery icon blinking.
> AND THIS IS THE CLEAR SYMPTOM : If you press volume down + home button and the download os pops up WITHOUT PRESSING THE POWER THE BUTTON. (because it should have been home + power + volume down at the same time)
> You CAN'T CONTINUE the download process by pressing the volume up button, it just returns to the blinking S3 logo.

Then you have a POWER BUTTON problem being STUCK, so it just cycles to reboot everytime, and that is an easy fix (thankfully).

You just have to open up the internal back cover of your phone (remove the tiny screws), then clean the power button part by blowing gently or poking with the tip of the small screw driver to dislodge it a bit (again, gently). You can try putting back the battery in, and if the phone doesn't turn on by itself (the S3 logo doesn't appear), then it's FIXED!!! :)

Hope it works for some of you. Goodluck! :D

Same issue as many -

My S3 was working fine all day. Probably on about 60% battery.
I put it down, turned around, looked back and it is flashing the booting up logo "samsung galaxy s3 GT-19300"
It does this repeatedly.
If I remove the battery and put it back - it starts doing it by itself without me touching anything.
I tried cleaning the power button and smacking it.
I tried to charge it - grey battery icon with no loading.
I've tried to go into recovery, I can get to the screen that tells me to press up, but if I press up - nothing.
I've switched batteries - no difference.

I don;t know what else to do.
Any help would be appreciated.

I Have followed your above steps and it goes ok with kies software but in the middle of the downloadin process it fails and said that it was unexpected error hapend, I have a big problem here
please advice me how to get throw this
thanks

Since a few days my Galaxy S3 Neo doesn't turn on. My phone suddenly turned itself off and keeps restarting till the first screen 'Samsung Galaxy S3 Neo'. After a few seconds the mobile turned itself off and the process keeps repeating.

I have read a lot of topics on different forums but i can't conclude what's the problem exactly.

I tried to hard reset my phone: Press volume up + power button + home button. I see again the 'Samsung Galaxy S3 Neo' screen with in the top left 'recovery booting...' After a few seconds my mobile turned off and the process keeps repeating.

I also tried the volume down + power button. Another screen appears with the options 'volume down: continue' and 'volume up: restart', but before i can turn a button the phone turned itself of and continue.

Does anyone have the solution for this problem?

EDIT: My power button was stuck. I have removed my power button and yet my mobile phone still works and don't restart itselfs! I looked on Youtube for a video.

I holded home button+volume down and it takes to a screen saying if I want to download a custom
OS. I tried what you said, but it didn't work. both of them.

You didn't mention your screen was broken, How long ago did that happen?

Power + home isn't supposed to do anything. Try booting into recovery by making sure the phone is powered off (pull the battery, wait a few seconds, then put it back in). The press and hold power, home and volume UP. Hold all three buttons until the Samsung logo appears, then release all three buttons. If the recovery menu appears, use the volume buttons to select factory reset, then press power, and see what happens.

If that doesn't work, see if you can boot into download. Again, power off. Then press and hold power, home, and volume DOWN. When / If you see a warning screen press volume UP. If this says Downloading, and gives you a message about not disconnecting the phone, you can pull the battery to power down. Let us know what happens.

I did the second step cause I have the same problem what do I do when it still says downloading
