HELP - Samsung Galaxy S4 outlook exchange sent emails disappearing

I hope you can help. I have 2 emails set up on my Samsung email app. My university account and my Hotmail account. Over the last few months when I have sent an email from my university account, I am getting a sent notification and then when I go into the sent folder, there is no trace of the email I have sent, even when my phone seems to be syncing fine. It is only happening on my outlook university account on my phone. Also it happens on random emails and not all of them. I have checked the outbox and deleted folders. When I go into my email via my laptop or tablet, the email is not there either. I don't know if the sender has received it and it is so frustrating that I have now started to copy my text before I hit send, in case it goes missing it.

The problem I have is that as a student, it is university protocol to send all emails from our university account. I spoke to my uni IT dept and they are as helpful as the 'IT crowd'

I have read other forums and tried the following:

Cleared the cache
Uninstalled the email account restarted phone and reinstalled.

I hope someone can offer any help.

Thanks

Welcome to Android Central! Open the Email app, tap Menu>Settings, select that email account, and look for the option to edit the server settings. Check to make sure the outgoing server settings are correct--you may need to contact your school's IT department for the correct settings (or look through any support materials they may have given you at the beginning of the year).

Thanks for your reply. I have checked the server settings on my phone with the university ICT guidelines and they are as they should be which is IMAP 993 SSL and POP 587 TLS.

I don't know what else to do. This never used to happen, so do not understand what has changed. It is very frustrating.

Does anyone have any other ideas? Thanks
