So I left my phone on the countertop and when I came back it was all black, I pressed the home button, it turned on I think because the screen is still black but with a tiny x in the top right and when I turned it on it said "Connect Galaxy to Gear VR" I dont like those things and I dont own one, I held down voulme and home and off button and it buzzes but nothing happens, help!

Welcome to Android Central! Press and hold Power and Vol Down for 15-20 seconds to force a shutdown. Then power on again normally. If this keeps happening, check the microUSB port and make sure there's no debris in there. Use a can of compressed air to blow it out.
