Following the Samsung/Sprint update to Oreo this week my Galaxy S7 is constantly giving me the notification "Samsung DM service checking device status" The notification appears a few times an hour then just disappears. I've made sure I've updated the PRL, profile and software. It is just plain annoying. It appears as a little check mark in a circle in the notification bar.

I'd prefer to fix this issue without factory resetting as that always takes me a day or two to get my phone back the way I really want it. Thank you in advance for any help!

Phone information:
Type: Samsung Galaxy S7
Carrier: Sprint USA
Not rooted
Model number: SM-G930P
Software version: G930PVPU6CRE7
Android version: 8.0.0

I just got the update and am having the same thing happen at least on restarts so far. Annoying.

Same here, I tried the PRL and Profile updates. I saw on another post ##72786 # to re-activate to the Sprint Network but it says it will reset provisioning to factory and I don't want to do that because I used ADB to change something I don't want unchanged. It only shows after I reboot and disappears after a while, so I'll live with it if I have to.

Are you still having this problem because I just noticed it and am having the same thing?

It still happens but is much less frequent. I only see it once every few days now, if at all. So yes but barely is the answer to your question.

This update completely screwed up my phone. I get the same notification you described but it stays there and every few seconds my phone vibrates and no apps will run. Luckily I have an S9 so this is a backup device but my blood is boiling. Have to do a factory reset.

My phone doesn't do that anymore with the checking DM service thing, but in the past couple of weeks since the update now I lose network connectivity all the time. I do the PRL and profile updates and it doesn't seem to help or it only does temporarily.

I have the same issue every time I turn my phone off and then back on. Has anyone figured out how to stop the phone from checking samsung DM service? I, too, do not want to reset my phone.
