Hello and welcome to Android Central Ignacio Altube!

The Verizon carrier minority variant of the Galaxy S5, G900V, can only be updated if you are registered on the Verizon network. See #1.6 of 42 Galaxy S5 models - Dummies Guide. This model will accept no other firmware unlike the international model.

You can download the latest Verizon Marshmallow, Android 6.0.1, firmware, below, and flash it to your phone using Odin and by following the instructions and video contained in the links of #1.11 of the aforementioned guide.

Model SM-G900V
Model name GALAXY S5
Country USA (Verizon)
Version Android 6.0.1
Changelist 8025411
Build date Wed, 11 May 2016 07:04:50 +0000
Security Patch Level 2016-05-01
Product code VZW
PDA G900VVRU2DPD1
CSC G900VVZW2DPD1

Hi ironass, thanks for the quick reply!!! One last question, if i flash the verizon marshmallow will i risk my current status (its unlocked and im using it with a local carrier in argentina). Thanks for the patience!

Dont know if i understood correctly, by "if you are registered on the verizon network" you meant that id be only able to use it if i were in the US and with verizon as my carrier, on the contrary it is not possible for me to update, regardless my phone is currently unlocked and rooted?

I cannot comment on unlocking and upgrading as I have no experience of it on the international model as we don't have all that cr*p. Also, it may depend on the original unlocking method. You need to be registered on the Verizon network to receive OTA updates.

The guy's got a VZW S5 (SM-G900V), he's using, presumably, a local SIM for use with an Argentinian provider. From his postings, I doubt he's looking for OTA support. All of that said, if he flashes to 6.0.1 is he out of luck with his local, Argentinian, provider? And is he no longer unlocked? Unless 6.0.1 makes a change in how the radios work, the SIM should still be valid and use with the local provider won't stop. My guess is being unlocked remains, too. Or not?

I did something similar in the Bahamas with a VZW SM-G900V - used a Bahamas Telephone SIM and flashed 5.0. No problems at all - of course my number was now one in 242 (Bahamas area code). I popped the VZW SIM when I got back to the States, and resumed VZW service under my Stateside number in 610-land.
