I've got an i535 running an AT&T sim with a few issues. I would like to know how to turn off the "+" that indicates international calls, from all unknown incoming calls.

It's really annoying, because I can't simply call someone back. If they aren't in my address book, I need to either add them and edit the number, or edit the number straight out, and just deal with the "+" sign.

Also, what ROM would you suggest to get rid of all the Verizon/Samsung bloatware that is useless to me running AT&T.

Thanks

This is usually a CallerID feature and, unfortunately, the data comes from the Carrier, not the phone.

In any case, even if you get the number with the international format, you should still be able to call those numbers regardless as the carrier wouldn't charge you international rates if you just call within the US.

I have been told that this is an issue when using a Verizon phone (their own software) with another carrier'ens SIM. I don't have an international plan, so I don't know why I'm getting these "+" signs. I can call my cell from the office land line, and it comes through as +58 542 20000, where it should be (585)422-0000. The number is shown correctly if I call my other AT&T cell.

Any ideas? It's a setting somewhere, but I can't figure out which one. Nothing I've tried seems to work.

Thanks!

Oh, I get it now. So you're not getting the full international number, you're getting just that extra + sign that screws everything up because you're lacking country info. That's odd. I don't have your phone model, but I just tried my Mexico SIM on my work phone (Verizon) and the numbers are showing up fine even with the Mexican SIM. Mexico calls come through as +52 and local phones will only show area code + number.

Yup, you are correct. I think it's the Verizon vs AT&T sim that is playing with my phone.
