Help w/ringtone, PLEASE

when i connect my Infuse to my PC, select "Mass Storage" i can explore the different sections by going to "my computer" on my PC. tow "external drives" pop up, i've assumed that one is the external micro SD, in my mobile, and the other is the built in storage of my mobile, correct?

i've found that if i move a sound file, from my PC, to >media>audio>notifications it will pop up in the menu, on my mobile, as an option for a text notification. what section do i need to move the sound file to in order to have it listed as an option for a ringtone?

Im new to android, but what i did was create a folder in the root of the external drive called "Ringtones" and moved the files into that.

what do you mean by "the root of"? i can click on "external" can i just put the folder there?

The root of a drive means not a subdirectory on a physical drive.

So yes just open external and put Ringtones there
