Help with choosing a computer/laptop/notebook

I'm slowly transitioning out of the Apple ecosystem ... starting with replacing my iPhone with a Galaxy S20.

Kind of a general/blanket question, but what computer/laptop/notebook (no tablets, please) seems to integrate the best with a Samsung Galaxy phone? I'd eventually like to replace my MacBook Pro with something that really meshes well with a Galaxy device.

So my question, I suppose, is more directed at Samsung Galaxy owners and what laptop/notebook fits the best with that phone ....

I'm not a "power user" by any means ... just basic needs (but I still don't want a tablet - that's not quite sufficient). Would like to stay under $1,500 but that's flexible.

Since Microsoft has been increasingly collaborating with Samsung, you might want to check out your local Microsoft Store (if there's one near you) and ask the reps there to show you how Windows 10 integrates more tightly with Android devices. The Surface Pro line is a good bet -- you don't necessarily have to get the latest model, and older versions (like the Surface Pro 4) still work very well.

Are you talking about the Book S? www.samsung.com/global/galaxy/galaxy-book-s/ . It looks really cool, but bear in mind that this is an ARM based laptop, which means battery life will be great, but performance for moderate to heavy duty PC tasks will be poor. As far as I know, there aren't any ARM based laptops that are worth buying yet unless you absolutely need something that's super-light with great battery life, and don't care about performance.

Revisiting this older post .... any thoughts on the Galaxy Book Flex?

That line certainly seems a lot more powerful, and from reviews, it sounds like the battery life is excellent. But I did see a mention in this review that the unit can get pretty warm: https://www.laptopmag.com/reviews/samsung-galaxy-book-flex-15. This was a major problem with the 1st gen Galaxy Chromebook, to the point it would actually be painful to have it on your bare lap for any extended amount of time. It sounds like the Galaxy Book Flex doesn't get quite as hot, but it's still something to consider.
