Re: compromised

What is the phone doing that makes you think the security is compromised? It's possible that you have a rouge app that keeps getting reinstalled after phone resets. Also that model is not the fastest in the world so if it's a bit slow it could just be that you have many apps and many apps running. What exactly is the phone doing that makes you think it's a security issue?

I have run into this a few times where a master reset didn't actually work. What I did was go into settings, apps, app data and clear data and cache for third party apps. Then I uninstalled a lot of the third party apps. Then the master reset would work. Keep your phone plugged in while doing the reset because the prime is an older device and not as quick as other devices.

What issues in posting? I cannot use the official Android Central app to open links properly to post. The older Android Central forums app (there is a difference) works on my device ( not a prime).

You may have a few apps while they technically meet the requirements for installation, do not run efficiently. Think of buying computer software and it says bare memory 2gb recommended 4gb. Same idea.

It's NOT the best phone in the world, my mother has one also and she too had problems with it. We had to reset her phone twice, and once she had to take it to the T-Mobile store to have them to a look at it. It's one of the more affordable models, BUT unfortunately what's that old expression? "You get what you paid for!" Sometimes carriers will run specials on the better models on holidays. Perhaps on Labor Day (Sept 5th) or around, your carrier will run a special or a better model.

Welcome to the forums. I'm inclined to agree about an app that just may not be suited for your device. I would suggest clearing out any apps you aren't using anymore. Also, do you use Facebook, and their message app? The last I knew these are not light on RAM or storage. A lot of people here shifted to a browser to use FB and have had better experiences.
