Help with notification icon

I need help with identifying a notification icon. It looks a.like whatsapp symbol with a hammer and a lightning through it. Its causing me distress and need help finding its origin. I dont know how to post a screenshot. Its a galaxy a01.

Thank you , I'm trying to zoom in on your screen shot but can't make out what it looks like , can you focus more on that and zoom on it in your screen shot?

Welcome to Android Central! Swipe down the notification panel -- do you see a notification with that icon there?

When I look closely at it, it looks like the Whatsapp icon superimposed on a checkmark with an underline, which typically means a download has finished. Did you download anything from Whatsapp?

The thing is I noticed the notification after I took tge screenshot and its no longer there

I dont remember the thing is i noticed the notiricationcation after I took the screnshot And I have never gotten that notification before. As I look online I have never seen a whatssap notification do that before.

Like I said, it looks like the "download complete" icon superimposed on the Whatsapp icon. So did you download anything from Whatsapp, like a photo or an audio file?

I believe I downloaded and forwarded some pictures. The thing is O never got that before and am/was afarid I eas being hacked. Or some other weird downloaded appkocation. I onky have the essentials

I'd say it's extremely unlikely that you got hacked. If it wasn't an official icon, then I'd suspect it was a brief glitch where two icons got superimposed. Just keep an eye out for it, and if you see it again, swipe down the notification panel and see if anything is there.

Ok thanks. Yes i was thinking if it could be a glitch. Didnt kbkw that was possible. I thought it might be an andriod/galaxy notification as its not wahtssap

Can force close whatsapp see if it goes away

Welcome to the forums. I agree with @B. Diddy , that icon looks like two different ones being superimposed. One it's the normal WhatsApp icon that shows up when you receive a message, play an audio, etc. The other one is the checkmark after a download was completed. This one could come after you downloaded a long audio, for example, in WhatsApp.

For whatever the reason the system superimposed both of them instead of placing them side by side. Just a glitch, nothing to worry about.

Gi Javier. So is that pretty normal? Like for 2 icons to get superimposed in a glitch? I thunk it just happened again on a text message I received a message and it had a line diwn the middle of the envelope icon.but when I scrolled down it just wnet away
