Help with one UI please

Hi, just received the new one UI software upgrade. There is an annoying transparent white bar on both edges of the screen. Is this a feature or a bug?

Feature. The lighter bar is Samsung's One Hand Operation+. You use this app to use the screen sides to navigate the phone. You can disable them by opening the one hand operation app and switching it off.

The darker bar is probably the handle for the edge panels. You can disable that by turning off edge panels in settings.

I’m OK with the darker bar. It’s the lighter ones on both edges of the screen and don’t know their function. The One Hand Operation is off. Can’t even turn it on as I get the error message “unsupported OS version, update is needed”
