Help with rooting...

I ran revolution and gained S-Off on my HTC Evo 4g. I ran the superuser.zip and it said that everything installed ok. I rebooted and am still not rooted. I know this has probably been answered before and I apologize for asking again, but I've done everything I could and still no luck.

Any help would be appreciated. I deserve a beating but please keep it minimal. :)

Edit - I do have the superuser app showing up in my app drawer.

Download root checker just to make sure. If not try the procedure again and make sure you do not open the zip file before you paste it to the sd card.

I ran root checker. It said I don't have root. I reran Revolution and it told me I already has S-Off. I ran the superuser.zip again and it told me it successfully installed. Rebooted and still nothing.

Maybe I'll try downloading superuser from another site and see what happens.

Thanks for replying so fast.

I finally got it working. Stupid mistake that I was missing until I took a break and came back to it later. I was trying to use the wrong version of superuser. I was looking at too many different pages at one time and downloaded the wrong file.

Glad to hear you got it fixed Justin. Download ROM manager, and you will have access to some solid ROM's. After that the sky is the limit! Android rules

I ended up going with MikG 2.61 Working like a charm so far. Glad I finally built up the nerve to give rooting a shot.
