I have a Motorola Droid Ultra and had been using FoxFi for wireless tethering as I have unlimited data. I accidentally downloaded the new OTA. I did not want to accept and install as FoxFi says it will not work beyond KitKat 4.3. I just kept delaying the install.
I found Sunshine and they stated if I installed Sunshine and unlocked my phone, before installing the OTA, I should be ok. I installed sunshine (s-off) and unlocked the phone. (That was very easy, even for someone with no experience.) I then finally installed/accepted the ota. Once the OTA was installed, FoxFi no longer works. I get a message that I need a hotspot plan. Before the update, the Ultra was on an earlier version of KitKat and FoxFi worked fine. What do I need to do now to use FoxFi again?? I don't know anything about unlocking and rooting phones and could really use some help. Thank you in advance.
