whats wrong with bluetooth
Not set up in the inits yet. The hardware support is there, just a matter of getting it to start. The methods that work on the ION just freeze the Hero, so it takes a lot of trial and error. Everytime I get BT running and start to look for a device the phone bricks and needs wiped/flashed to get running again. Needless to say, it's going to take some time.
I'd be willing to test this out till you are comfortable that is releasable.
I would be happy to test for you you as well and report any issues I find.
I can test too if you need me gb...
I heard yesterday that 2.1 may be dropping soon for the eris, so we could be finally getting our kernel.
Check your PM's in about 10 minutes guys.
Noj - That would be great. If so, you can bet all work on this one stops for a good while

I'm needing that kernel bad lol. When it shows I'll drop our HTC specific modules into what I already have built and throw out a bootable image.
Can you recieve mms in this ROM? There is a 1.6 ROM on xda and I know theres issues revieving picmail.
On the one on XDA you can receive MMS just cannot send them.. I was personally having issues on that version with sending SMS though... Nice work hope to try asap!
SMS send and receive without any problem.
MMS sends just fine
MMS receive probably works, but not Sprint's way. That's probably going to take some work on Sprint's end. This ROM receives the link to the MMS, parses it and tries to download it, but Sprint won't let me download anything. Sprint hands some extra data when trying to push the MMS that I'm not sure how to handle. If someone figures out a hack/workaround, I'll put it in.
I'm very familiar with quietcblong's work over at XDA. He's an incredible dev, and without his work I never would have got this running. I had zero issues getting it built and loaded, but the random hacking it takes to get it all to work with sprint and the Hero vs. the ION I couldn't have done without him. I'm even using 99% of his build properties, as mine won't work well on the Hero. (open /system/ and you'll see qcb_build.prop...that's quietcblongs

) I'm a Linux developer, not an Android developer. Working on that though

.
Anything that doesn't work on his probably won't work on mine. This is just the vanilla 1.6 built to boot on the Hero. As more info about hacking the android java framework becomes available, more things will work. Ours is different from the GSM guys.
This is a ROM built from source for the ADP ION. With a T-Mo sim it works right out of the box. I took that, added our kernel into the boot image and loaded it up. I used info from quietcblong to get assisted gps working, Sprint voice and data, etc. (the man is an Android genius). I then added whatever updated parts from the Droid or the Nexus that would work with our kernel. If there was a choice, I went with black versions of widgets and apps, simply because of personal preference.
Then it was a matter of finding or building versions of gmail, sync, maps, and other Google applications that would work. I have them all working. Including Google googles and turn by turn.
This is basically a fun way for me to play with getting Android to do what I want it to do. The only Android experience I have is from playing with my ADP. Everything done on the ADP is with GSM in mind, and by now it all works when you build it. I need to see what I need to do so CDMA is the same way. Then I will start the de-odexing and try to get Sense working on this. It should, as it's the same kernel.
