Hey, I've got the 10' Lenovo Smart Display, and I'm on paternity leave for the next for the next two weeks so if you have any questions, ask away!

Congratulations on the new baby!:D What do you find yourself using the display most for? Many reviewers so far mention how ideal it is for the kitchen, especially for following recipes.

Thanks! Quite the change, all for the better.

Ours is in the kitchen as well, and yes, recipes for the subscribed channels are very good. My wife is a much more healthy cooker than I am so not all of her favorite chefs are on there yet, so that has been challenging for her, but their YouTube channels work well so that's a good alternative. She's also a better cook and the step by step is not necessary for her like it is for me.

The next two appointments displaying on the "home screen" is nice as well. And after she re-setup her voice recognition, it shows both her gmail calendar and my gmail calendar. That's a nice touch as we were originally adding her appts to my calendar. Adding appts by voice with the visuals also takes away some of the anxiety of "did Google get that?" as you see it all right on front of you.

I sort of blew off the utility of the visual timers, but it turns out the pundits were right - being able to see multiple timers is super useful.

We both watch a lot Youtube and YouTubeTV when we're feeding/pumping in the middle of the night, which is also a convenient feature to have in the kitchen - we had no TV in there previously. As for music, both GPMAA and Pandora work fine - it's loud but not as clear as the Google Home we used to have in there, but a fair trade off in our usage. The rest of the house is SONOS so it was already a step down from our primary sound sources.

Basically, with the kid in one arm and the bottle in the other, I'm still somewhat productive with the Smart Display around.

One other feature we love that I forgot to mention - the ability to say "Hey Google, show me my shopping list" and the list appears on the screen AND is editable on the big screen. Super nice addition.

Now if Google would just let us combine our shopping lists into one like we used to with Keep, all would be great again....not everybody lives alone, Google!

Off to do the shopping!

It'd be cool if you could connect a baby monitor, so that the video shows up on the display as well!

We renamed the Nest Cam Baby [NAME] and have it on the crib for now, will put it on the wall when she gets old enough that the cords become a strangling hazard.

Now my wife says Hey G, show me Baby [NAME] and the screen shows her the baby in the bassinet with sound. It's perfect.

This is the only reason why I wish they had included a battery to the Smart Display - would be nice to move it around from room to room, even for a short while, like say, a nap. Hell, even the Nest Cam works portable with a 10000mah battery pack attached to the bassinet, but the Smart Display has to remain near an outlet.

Aha, brilliant!

I feel the same way about the Google Home Max -- I wish it had a battery option so I could bring it out to the patio for parties. Of course, the battery would probably deplete pretty quickly, but still, it'd be nice to have.
