Hisense Sero 7 Pro - Unboxing pictures (no video)

Hey fellow Sero 7 owners and Happy New Year! Glad to see this tablet has a following! Have to say it is an awesome device. Had mine since August with no problems. Did run into an annoying little issue though. For the past few weeks I have been getting an "auto backup stalled" notification. Is very irritating. When I click on it, it just goes away. Any idea what is causing this and how to get rid of it? I attached a screenshot. Thanks for your feedback and assistance!

I can't tell you what it is, but my wife has been getting the same notification on her phone. It has me stumped!

You have Google + setup to automatically backup your photos. I use that feature of Google + as a way of managing photos I take with my phone camera.

If you don't like it, go into Google + settings and disable.

If this helps, please give a thanks!

My daughter's cable quit charging her tablet some time ago - charging would not start when plugged in - I tried it with my cable and it worked, so I bought her a cheap mini USB cable off eBay and it worked for awhile, then again this week charging quit working. I got her a new cable again, and it seems like it recognizes it's plugged to charger and started up, but then the little animated charging icon doesn't appear the way it does on mine, the screen just goes black. I charged her tablet using my charger and her replacement cable, and it took the charge ok. I am thinking it may now be the charging block itself rather than the cable? How can I get one that is the right capacity for the tablet? The ones I see on eBay seem to be a max of 1 amp and someone said up this thread that the OEM one provides 2 amps.
My charger and cable continue to work fine. I think she is maybe putting stress on the connections a bit by using it while it's plugged in charging. Is there a way to get a new charging block that I can be sure is right?

The problem with most chargers on the market today on ebay and yes even some on amazon is that they are mostly all fakes and do not charge properly or put out the true amps they claim. With that said I'd buy one directly from samsung.com or you can save some money and buy one from wirelessground.com, they sell the real deal; I verified my first purchase from them with Samsung themselves and was told it's genuinesamsung product, not a knock-off. So here is the one I use at my Office, I have the original for home use; this works very well.

Thanks for the link. Coincidentally I was looking at this one on eBay, it looks genuine... of course, how would I know...

I had the same problem. If it was purchased with a warranty that is still under effect, Hisense will replace the cable/charger. They did for me and that worked. It could be the port on the S7, but trying different cables from say phones, Nook etc plugged into your charging block might work as it did for me.

I have a Sero 7 Pro that stopped charging. For the Warranty, I am supposed to list the Serial Number, which I am told is under Settings>About. But, since it wont charge, I can't power it up :) Soooo? wondering if anyone knows which number on the box is the Serial Number? I'm guessing the 23 character string?

Same problem here. But I have tried different chargers and cables and they all do the same thing… a quick visual of the charger charging and then blank screen and nothing.

That's the SN. When you call, don't say anything about possible defective port on the S7. They will want you to send the S7 on your dime. I did say something and had to convince them to just send the charger/cable. The rep I got was reasonable and the replacement charger solved the problem for me.

Thanks. Curious what rationale they have about us paying to ship back a defective charger port when that should be covered under warranty… did they say?

If I recall correctly, any warranty repair requires the owner to pay to send the unit in. If you have the Walmart warranty, others on this forum suggest backing over it with a vehicle and getting your purchase price back.

So I just wanted to reinforce the comments about the Hisense Sero 7 Pro, while being great in every other way, has charging port issues. I bought my first last May, the charging port was worthless by August. I bought a new one in August hoping the first was just a fluke and determined to be more careful with it. I now have two tablets that won't charge. The problem seems to be in the charging port itself. Over time you have to work harder and harder to get the connector in at the right angle (this happened on both of them - they needed to have the cable dangle down just so, seemingly to put just the right of pressure into making the connection toward the front of the port?) until it just loses them completely. So much for saving money. I look at my phone here that I've charged most every day for four years with no problem and realize the issue must come from the tablet itself. I can't see myself trying a third time.:'(:-$:(:-X

No problems with my charger port and I've had it since day one, so has about 12 of my co-workers, not sure why you are hard on it; your issues are not typical.

Others have had this issue. What works for some is to try different cables. If under warranty, try contacting Hisense to replace cable/charger. They did for me. It still is a bit 'flaky' and won't connect any of my multi-sourced OTG cables. Also, avoid using while charging.
