Hisense Sero 7 Pro - Unboxing pictures (no video)

I would never walk in a Wal-Mart and expect the reps to know anything. I'm not dogging them, I'm sure they don't get trained well. The one I went to yesterday had 2 guys working in electronics and about 15 people needing help. Luckily the 3 I bought were in the case and I just grabbed a guy a saw with keys. I think they do have a big hit, just need to get the word out.

All 3 charging up, I also put on a ZaggHD screen protector on all 3 of them...Zagg doesn't make one for the S7 pro, but the kindle fire one works great as it's the same style screen and doesn't cover the front camera.

Does it cover the full face of the tablet or it is a little smaller that the whole screen? How is touch performance after the cover is added? Thanks, looking for a screen cover.

Yes, Walmart sells in spite of itself, really amazing! The first customers for this fine tablet had to be almost fanatical in their pursuit of one. I'm really amazed that I was able to just walk in and find one hidden in a locked cabinet under their very modest Tablet display. Their whole electronics department is weak!

I would agree with your statement. I truly do not expect any sales rep in any store to know as much as I do. I'm impressed if they even know what I am talking about or asking about if I am trying to find a product. Most of us here use there forums to help us make decisions, learn more, and really see and understand how these products work. It is really an invaluable resource we have here. My example of this would be this: Saturday night I am in bed research some cheap but good android tablets. I found a Nextbook 7 and 8 inch tablets with ok specs for the reason I wanted to buy them. I went to sleep thinking that the 8 inch Nextbook for $100 would be the tablet I was going to buy. I awoke the next day and came into work to do some OT. During my down time I turned to the AC forums and I just happened to come across this one. I started to research Hisense and the Sero tablet, then I found the pro version. I went through alot of these posts and was really blown away by the price and the specs on this thing. So within a 12 hour window and some fantastic posts here, I went from what I thought I was going to buy to 3 of the S7 Pro's. That is pretty powerful, and that's why I love this community, we are all passionate about these things. We know we will get the real story from the people who actually use, abuse, test, look over every nook and cranny. I trust everyone here much more than a store rep and always will.

This is my post, I do not know how to use the Quote feature...

I went through the same process--glad I did the homework. The Sero 7 Pro is a much better buy than the Nextbook.

How well do your Kindle Fire sceen protectors fit? It is exact to the dimensions?

Pretty much, I'll see if I get a good picture of it and post it so you can see it.

Here you go, comes just below the front camera...this was the best choice from Zagg bc there is no cutout for a front camera. The left corner is l shaped, but I can deal with that.

I've been fooling with mine, loading apps (everything has been loading so far except for one thing that seems not to run on the tablet, but I'm more likely to use it on my phone anyway). I have to say I miss the little 'menu' button that Samsung still has, because it was my first Android device - I keep going for it. What's the stock Android way to bring up any available context-menu sort of things?
I have to agree about the screen - oi, it looks like a grubby two year old has been playing with it, after only 30 minutes loading apps. Maybe a screen protector might be required for this thing, if I can get one that doesn't dim the colors and the luster...

The menu button was replaced what they call the "action overflow" button, which is three vertical dots. They have asked, since 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, app authors to remove the menu button fuctions and incorporate an action overflow button for those items. If it is an older or not updated app, you will see the three dot button appear in the navigation bar next to the Home, Back, and recent apps button (and I guess on the Sero 7 the screenshot button).

So that's what that is... heehee. Old dogs learning new tricks all the time.

Anyone got a good case for the S7 yet?

I'm still in the research phase, but during my excursion to WalMart whence I found this tablet, I also found a case by Chil called the "notchbook" which is supposed to be universal for 7" tablets. It features an interesting flap in the lower left corner that opens to allow you to more closely hold your tablet, and it also folds to stand on its own.

yeah, I bought the Chil case as well, I'm taking it back though. Don't like that you can't fold the cover all the way to the back, so you have this huge "ear" sticking out on the left, like your photo shows. There are some other universal fit covers that Walmart sells I'll check out.

I received my two HDMI mini cables today, one was defective and one works perfectly. I have yet to experience any of the erratic behavior others have talked about when using. Even with the charger plugged in it works great.

The little man loves his Sero 7 Pro. Already playing minecraft!
