Home, Back and Search buttons stopped working

I have an LGOptimus G that I got unlocked a couple of months ago so I could use in internationally. I installed the JellyBean update about a couple of weeks ago and the phone was fine until now. Last night, the front soft keys all stopped working, and nothing I do seems to fix it. I caved and did a couple of factory resets to no luck. any suggestions??

no, its not rooted... but i'll try to root it and see what happens..
