Home button and power button both unresponsive

For the second time in a few months, my home button and power button both became unresponsive. This happened previously for about 2 days and put of no where both starting working as normal. Has anyone else ever experienced this and know a solution to the problem?

Are you able to force a shutdown by pressing and holding Power and Vol Down for about 10-15 seconds? If so, then try booting into Safe Mode: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-29226

No I am not, I tried that a few times. It's crazy because the power button will work on and off for like a minute or 2 occasionally.

I'd guess that there's something wrong with the button itself or its connections. You'd probably have to bring it to a repair shop to know for sure.
