Home button/fingerprint scanner doesn't always work when phone locked

I've had my U11 for a few weeks now, which has the fingerprint scanner set up, meaning I can unlock the phone by touching the home button/fingerprint sensor rather than have to wake up the phone then enter a PIN.

However every once in a while the fp scanner stops working and I can't unlock the phone in this way. Instead I have to press the power button to wake the phone, but once unlocked the home button works fine. If I then lock the phone and try the fingerprint scanner again it usually works (i.e. unlocks the phone), but on one occasion I had to restart the phone before it would work again.

I've seen various reports of the scanner not working when wet, but this is not the case here, and I haven't found any reports matching my particular issue. Has anyone else has encountered this problem?

My fingerprint scanner stopped working. I had to send it in for a warranty repair, and they have had it for 45 days with no end in sight.

Have you tried a factory reset? Try that first.
