home screen widgets not syncing

i've got "sol calendar" "Accuweather" & "S Health" daily steps tracker on my home screen. they seem to stop syncing after a while , but if i press into the app it works fine. for example if i added an event on my calendar, it shows up in the app. but when i go back to view the widget on my home screen the event doesn't show up. whenever this happens i have to reboot my phone. can anyone tell me how to solve this?

They update automatically but not continuously. You can set the frequency of the automatic updates in the app's settings. I don't know about the steps tracker, but Accuweather has a 1 hour interval as the most frequent update.
