Try HD widgets you can customize them a little bit they have that one and it doesn't show up on the battery monitor sp I'm guessing it's pretty easy on the battery.

It's called Launcher8. It's pretty decent. And I kinda like that I don't constantly feel the need to change my wallpaper like I usually do LOL. Besides that, it's free... no harm in having a free app to play with

I'm usually not too keen on mimicking other platforms either. But I actually use my phone for more than just setting up and displaying home screens LOL. And this setup is very functional... everything is easy to get to and it's displayed in a way that's very easy to see at a glance. It's not as versatile as other launchers, but it's more functional.
