Thanks Beezy. Actually think I'm going to switch to Lite. FriendStream just appears more agitating than anything else.

i could not wipe the dalvik in recovery. its says error and the i have to wipe in "abb". i will connect now to laptopp and attempt to delete in tat method but who know lol this is rather strange . what if i clear data and cache option? will this delete EVERYTHING off the phone ?? i can just reinstall a rom from the sd card again correct ? i have nothing i care to save on the phone at this point

That's a glitch in the recovery just wipe twice, then if you have to reboot then wipe again,a pain I go threw it a lot. If you don't care about anything I would wipe everything and do a clean install.

Apps2SD and Dalvik-Cache.

Darktremor A2SD hasn't moved dalvik-cache automatically since Flipzmode requested it back in 2.7 beta 7 for Fresh 2.0d. A special beta 7 was made for Flipzmode, then the change was initiated in beta 8.

The new version 2.7 update 3 also keeps the dalvik-cache on the internal storage. The user can enter commands to move the dalvik-cache to the SD card or the /cache partition...but those have to be initiated by the user.

And, in defense of TrevE's version (one used in DamageControl and other roms based on DC), he doesn't move it unless the user selects that option.

**Why I use the older app2sd?- Cause the newer version move dalvik-cache and i don't recommend it.Its your choice if you decide to flash different versions of a2sd,but I highly recommend you don't.

Yeah I was looking into that today,I was actually thinking about incorporating it into the next update for people that wanted it.

If you do, I have a list of roms on XDA (that's where my larger thread is). I would be more than happy to add it to the list with this thread as the link.

If you don't mind one of lockscreen and one with app drawer open with the app selector over a app. That way everyone knows things are stock. Greatly appreciate it.

@ Beezy420 or anyone

So now that Google has release 2.2 does that mean that we can get Froyo on our Hero's now?

I have a quick froyo / ROM development question for you... Would you imagine that devs will be able to put sense UI and the HTC stuff onto a 2.2 froyo build from the AOSP? Or would that be something that most likely will have to wait until at least one phone gets an official update from HTC?

Also - is there a guide that you recommend to follow to start learning about making ROMs?

Sense UI isn't open source so nope it won't be.Have to wait for a device to come out or get updated with it then port it over.
As for starting to make your own roms,do you know how to use linux?

I have tried a few builds. I have ubuntu 10.04 on my laptop, dual booted beside windows 7. I can use it ok.
