I have not tried that mod, but if you look down lower in this forum there is a thread with some similar mods. Here is a link to my post in that thread, and it works great:

Here.

I was able to find one, and it looks/works great. I THINK this link is it (going by my history from late last night), but the site isn't responding, so I can't confirm. Will update if it's wrong.

The thing I liked about the previous one was that it also hid the clock in the menu bar, giving a little bit of real estate back. Anyone got a mod for that?

you mean something like this

xda-developers - View Single Post - [MOD] Clockless Taskbar - Updated 5/26 for Fresh 2.1.2

Don't know how many are using google voice for voice mail, but I can't get it to play my messages through the handset. On both settings it plays through the speaker. Using HB420. I worked fine on CM6.

I have had the same issues with honeybun420 with GV, but I don't listen to them much on my phone for some reason.

BUT, Beezy, any thoughts about this .7 OTA? Is it super hard to cook a new honeybun?

Apps2sd- is old school, just have to have a partitioned sdcard for it to work.

Good Job bro, bet that felt weird playing with old 2.1 LOL

Beezy,

Is there any specific feedback you want on this 'beta'? I was probably going to check out nfinite's odexed version too, but I know you roll in the mem management also, which is nice. All I am looking for is a stock-esque, odexed, mem managed, new-ish apps2SD, and then i have to remove the sprint apps (which i really don't care for). this would be honeybun, but I can play with the beta if you need.

I threw it up just as a starter nfinite's roms are kick-as*.I run his roms.I plan to do somethings to this just wanted to start with the basics.I'd grab his and when i put a update out if you want grab mine.

cool. whenever you put up the update, let me know since i will probably take down the mirror for honeybun 420 and replace it with this one.

random performance increase

Beezy,

So I was test driving nfinite's ROM, and the odex didn't work so well for me, but when I re-flashed my nandroid+ext Honeybunv420 backup, some weirdness happened. First, my apps were done (probably since I wiped everything which must have removed them from the SD and the +ext backup didn't work so well?). In the process of trying to get them back without re-installing, I did a factory wipe with my backup, and then just re-installed everything. What's weird is that I feel that there is a definite lack of lag now. I can't explain it, and I am getting the same linpack scores, but this ROM is flying much faster than previously.

Thanks again for the ROM, and whenever that legend froyo comes out, I will pay money for the froyo sense port.

Ps. A honeybun lite (without all the sprint stuff) with the jonas mod keyboard (v27) would rock on the next roll out. And if you wanted a custom non-sprint boot flash, I have a bunch I have been using which are smaller. Could even get one with a honeybun flying around or something. lmk.

New post, question about installing new BEEZY ROM, from a newbie who knows just barely enough to be dangerous:

So here's what I've done, with many thanks to all, especially Beezy who is marvelously generous and patient:

I have a sprint hero which I manged to root successfully; I have wireless tether for root users ver 1.60 installed and it works. I havent messed with a custom ROM. Yet.

Currently have Firmware version 2.1-update 1, Software 2.27.651.5, build number 2.27.651.5 CL 169236 relase-keys.

Here are my questions:

1. I tried to partition the SD card using the recovery green text menu .. how can I tell if I have the proper ext partition? (the orig was 2.0GB, if I look at the SD card now, mounted as a disk drive, it is only 1.5 gig)

2. Here are some files on my SD card now:
boot-patched.zip
flashrec-1.1.3-20091107-2.apk
HTC Sync (FOLDER)
recovery-RA-hero-v1.5.2.img
recovery.img
unrevoked

Do I need them or, after (or before) I flash a new custom rom, can I discard them

3 I think I want Beezy's rom for convenience and user speed. I dont consider myself a developer ... just want to get rid of bloatware and have access to an occasional piece of neat stuff. So it looks like I'm supposed to copy OTA-ided-beta-1.zip to my sd card, then reboot, then wipe, then flash. Is that correct? Am I missing something?

(I have backups of all … google makes it easy about data and contacts but I did nandroid backup and also purchased mybackp pro)

Comments are ever so gratefully received

THANKS!!!

First, let me say congrats on rooting and thank you.
1.If you have a pc with linux running on it mount the sdcard and it will see the partition.

2.It doesn't look like you would need to keep them.If you ever need HTC sync then you could download it from htc website.

3. you got the steps down;)

I still use this rom (no other roms seem to want to run as smoothly on my phone, even nfinite's which is just odd and sad since he does good work).

I don't suppose there's any chance at all of getting the new update cooked into the rom is there? I know you've moved on to more awesome things (I've been following!), but figured I'd ask.

Thank you.Thats is weird about nfin rom cause he is a kickass developer. I still flash back to this rom every now&then. Just making sure did you download the OTA-Iced-beta-1? It has the new ota cooked into it.I plan to sit down here soon and do a little update to this rom.

Gah,

I answered but apparently it didn't go through.

Anyways,

I swear hero's must have different hardware no matter what HTC says. Something about every other rom I've tried, no matter how good, they all eventually lock up on me sooner or later. But this rom does not. Nfin is a great developer and I wish my hero would agree with his roms.

But when you find what works you stick with it right?

I didn't download the beta, because I wasn't exactly sure what it was and what it contained. Should I download that and use it?

Of course, I also saw the htc aria 2.2 update got leaked... that's got me excited for possibilities.

Yeah,i don't know why i named it as beta.lol It's the latest IcedHoneybun version with all the new stuff from the OTA.I would use that it shouldn't really have any issues, like i said i keep a copy on my sdcard to flash when i need to.

About the aria ive know about it for a few days and so have a couple other Great dev, team FUSprint baby.lol. It won't be long and everyone can say byebye 2.1 and be running 2.2 ;)

Just a preview if you or anybody hadn't seen. [ROM-DEV] HTC Sense Froyo Android 2.2.1 (Devs only) - xda-developers It still needs a little work but its getting close as soon as it has a few more things worked out ill thrrow a thread up here, just wanted to wait a little bit.
