Been trying to run this battery icon mod on icedhoneybun-v420-f, but no go. Any ideas why?
I have not tried that mod, but if you look down lower in this forum there is a thread with some similar mods. Here is a link to my post in that thread, and it works great:
Here.
I was able to find one, and it looks/works great. I THINK this link is it (going by my history from late last night), but the site isn't responding, so I can't confirm. Will update if it's wrong.
super circle battery on stock ROM - xda-developers
The thing I liked about the previous one was that it also hid the clock in the menu bar, giving a little bit of real estate back. Anyone got a mod for that?
you mean something like this
xda-developers - View Single Post - [MOD] Clockless Taskbar - Updated 5/26 for Fresh 2.1.2
About this beta-The original base is from IcedHoneyBun-v.3.
Apps2sd- is old school, just have to have a partitioned sdcard for it to work.
Wireless tether
Memory management-(Don't use ATK)
Cpu governor set to ondemand-stock setting is performance
Couple other small tweak ill detail later.
Thanks again to nfinitefx.
link to download beta- OTA-Iced-beta-1.zip
Beezy,
Is there any specific feedback you want on this 'beta'? I was probably going to check out nfinite's odexed version too, but I know you roll in the mem management also, which is nice. All I am looking for is a stock-esque, odexed, mem managed, new-ish apps2SD, and then i have to remove the sprint apps (which i really don't care for). this would be honeybun, but I can play with the beta if you need.
New post, question about installing new BEEZY ROM, from a newbie who knows just barely enough to be dangerous:
So here's what I've done, with many thanks to all, especially Beezy who is marvelously generous and patient:
I have a sprint hero which I manged to root successfully; I have wireless tether for root users ver 1.60 installed and it works. I havent messed with a custom ROM. Yet.
Currently have Firmware version 2.1-update 1, Software 2.27.651.5, build number 2.27.651.5 CL 169236 relase-keys.
Here are my questions:
1. I tried to partition the SD card using the recovery green text menu .. how can I tell if I have the proper ext partition? (the orig was 2.0GB, if I look at the SD card now, mounted as a disk drive, it is only 1.5 gig)
2. Here are some files on my SD card now:
boot-patched.zip
flashrec-1.1.3-20091107-2.apk
HTC Sync (FOLDER)
recovery-RA-hero-v1.5.2.img
recovery.img
unrevoked
Do I need them or, after (or before) I flash a new custom rom, can I discard them
3 I think I want Beezy's rom for convenience and user speed. I dont consider myself a developer ... just want to get rid of bloatware and have access to an occasional piece of neat stuff. So it looks like I'm supposed to copy OTA-ided-beta-1.zip to my sd card, then reboot, then wipe, then flash. Is that correct? Am I missing something?
(I have backups of all ? google makes it easy about data and contacts but I did nandroid backup and also purchased mybackp pro)
Comments are ever so gratefully received
THANKS!!!
I still use this rom (no other roms seem to want to run as smoothly on my phone, even nfinite's which is just odd and sad since he does good work).
I don't suppose there's any chance at all of getting the new update cooked into the rom is there? I know you've moved on to more awesome things (I've been following!), but figured I'd ask.
Gah,
I answered but apparently it didn't go through.
Anyways,
I swear hero's must have different hardware no matter what HTC says. Something about every other rom I've tried, no matter how good, they all eventually lock up on me sooner or later. But this rom does not. Nfin is a great developer and I wish my hero would agree with his roms.
But when you find what works you stick with it right?
I didn't download the beta, because I wasn't exactly sure what it was and what it contained. Should I download that and use it?
Of course, I also saw the htc aria 2.2 update got leaked... that's got me excited for possibilities.
