Honeymoon Period

already have google voice as well. Don't really understand how it could leave me voicemail with my current number.. Only through google voice's assigned number I can understand.. But from what I can see, I'd have to give everyone my google voice number which would direct to my current number and not the other away around.

As someone has already mentioned, this works well. I've used Google Voice for over 5 years now for voicemail since I don't want to be tied to a carrier's VM service. It's also easily accessible from the web or across multiple devices.

I think I had to manually set this up on my last phone (Nexus 6P) but it worked out-of-the-box with my Pixel 2 after using Google's data transfer tool to move stuff from my 6P to my P2.

I wish I could provide more details on what I did to set this up but I can't remember. I do remember that it was pretty straight-forward and easy to figure out while fiddling around with my phone for a few minutes.

Man using this phone is such a delight.. seriously don't have to waste time tampering with any of the settings.
A few years ago, I rooted and ROMed all my phones. Now I don't really see the need. Don't even really see the need for TWRP either.

But the problem is that my voice mail isn't even set up in the first place. Everytime someone calls, they can't leave a voicemail. After a couple of rings, it will go straight to the "busy" dial tone.

edit: I just downloaded HulloMail. And called my cell number. Still getting that busy dail tone instead of going to voicemail.

Did you go into Hullomail settings/account/voicemail activation/activate voicemail?

I'm using and have been using Google Voice as my voicemail on my carrier phone number for years. It picks up calls that people dialed my regular number for, not my GVoice number, and plays them the recorded message I made, then notifies me of a VM plus transcribes it for me. It just works.

I do have google voice on right now actually. and I get random calls with voice mails, but I'm assuming they called my google voice number.

I just called my number now with my house phone and when I go all the way I get an automated message that says,"the customer you're calling is unavailable. Please call again."

Did you go into Hullomail settings/account/voicemail activation/activate voicemail?

I did, and it was after I wrote that message you just quoted, I activated via confirmation email. Would I have to make a voice mail message?

Also, I have Google Voice and Hullomail now at the same time.., so I think this would complicate things...

Here's what I did just now: I deleted Hullomail and AT&T visual voicemail, and now i"m just sticking to google voice.

I just went google.com/voice and went to the Phones tab and setup a pin number. In addition, I click on a link that says,"Activate Google voicemail on this phone" and it it asks me if I wanted to use the google voicemail instead of my at&t carrier. It then asked me write a bunch of specific characters that include my google voice number, on my phone app and dial it to get a confirmation message. However when I do, I get two messages.. First one says, "mmi code started" but the second message says,"Call forwarding. Connection problem or invalid MMI code." Not sure what to do now. I've done it at least 3 times to make sure I wasn't typing in the wrong symbols on my phone before calling.. sigh.
