Honor 8 Bug/Dislikes reports

I also performed a factory data reset in hopes of killing off the issue as was suggest earlier in this thread. I'm surprised that only three users have noticed this issue.

So the problem still persists after the factory data reset?

What sucks is I just cancelled my $277 axon 7 because of those problems . ugh

If it's any consolation, I haven't had any video playback issues. Haven't rebooted or powered off except to insert my SD card. Watching Simpsons on FXNow app as we speak.

I have to wait til I get back in an area to test.... accomplished it last night and when I was awaken by the sweet sound of my Honor 8 alarm, all of my apps had yet to download and the google play services update had yet to be applied. I can update the results later..... sincerely hope it works.

I'm not sure, I've used the FXNow app, Comedy Central, Youtube, Reddit is Fun, and so far haven't had any video issues.

So far so good... I reset the device and things seem to be much better now. HOPEFULLY this reset has done the trick.

Not the original poster, but for number 3, chargers, both wall and car. And I see the folio style case on hihonor.com, but why no black for it?

For #3, I'd definitely like to be able to buy both an official Honor wall charger and a car charger for the Honor 8.

Also, I haven't personally tried any of the cases that Honor sells on their website ( I have both the "PC" and "TPU" case on order, though) but I would really like a "bumper" style phone case for the Honor 8 that just covers the sides of the phones and has a "lip" to it, to keep the phone from touching any surface you set the phone down onto. This style of case would still allow some protection for the phone but not cover up the beautiful back and front of the phone (for those of us who want to "show off" how nice this phone looks).

If you're looking for more feedback, there are at least a couple of threads in this forum where various owners of this phone have listed off some things we like/don't like/would like, so you might want to look for those threads and check them out.

One software change I would LOVE to see you guys make to this phone: please, please give us a way to have all current and future-installed apps be "protected" and not "put to sleep" by the phone. Right now, if you go into the settings and set the phone to "protect" all apps, it only does so for the currently installed apps. If you install any new apps, you have to go back into this same setting and once again enable protection for all apps so the newly installed apps also get protected. This is very annoying and overly aggressive, IMHO. I would sincerely love a way to either disable the aggressive behavior of this phone wanting to put apps to "sleep", or have a way to tell it to "protect" any-and-all current/future app installs.

Any way to get a light blue similar to the note 7 coral blue?

Now this good to see....

My biggest issue right now that I would like to see resolve is a video bug with YouTube and other embedded video on sites like ESPN. This has hit a number of phones. Factory reset has seemingly corrected issue, but this is a day in. The original problem occurred after 3 days use and did no go away until the factory reset.

Accessories: need quality case options, docks, etc. I like to all in. I know this may not be logical at the current market size for Honor in the USA.

As for colors.... It is more about availability, not the current options.

Hi Zack, more cases and correct sized tempered glass screen protector would be nice. I'm using iVoler screen protector and Terrapin TPU case from Amazon. Both work but they are okay not great. I want a nice clear TPU case that shows off the Sapphire Blue color. I'm thinking of trying out the Blue case from Huawei as well.

And yes ability to buy a spare wall and car charger would be great rather than some third party in Shenzen via eBay.

Is the screen itself flat? In some phones like the s7, the 2.5d curve actually starts in the screen so a tempered glass option without halo is very difficult
